Had a scare tonight
Tonight one of my dogs started collapsing and having seizure-like behaviour.
It scared the hell out of us.
He did that once before a couple of years ago and the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him in his test results. The only thing the vet mentioned the first time was that he might have a tumour on his pancreas but the tests didn't show anything. Tonight, a few hundred dollars later, the tests didn't find anything again.
Nearest we can all figure is that he fell down the stairs and got a concussion. We heard him fall down the stairs, but we have no idea if his seizure-like behaviour started before or after the fall.
At one point while they were off at the vets, I got so upset and was wondering if my "curse" was catching up to me. The last few animals I've had have all died at the age of four. Now this guy has made it to 5 but I still wondered if I was going to have another pet die young. All sorts of things go through your head when you're waiting to find out what's going on. The waiting is the worst part sometimes.
The poor guy isn't quite back to himself yet but he's doing fine. Hubby and I are more of a wreck than he is at this point...we're still coming down from the scare of it all.
This guy is the first dog I've ever had and love the big goofball so much. I'm so glad he's ok!
This post probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm tired and stressed out.
But my goofy guy is fine!
